Giovanni Marini

Morristown, New Jersey-born & Kunkletown, Pennsylvania-raised, Giovanni Marini (they/them) is a queer actor, director, & all around trying-to-be-human human based in the Lehigh Valley & Philadelphia area.

Giovanni is a 2024 magna cum laude graduate of DeSales University with a BA in Theatre, concentrating in Musical Theatre and Directing. Once an introverted gamer kid, Giovanni discovered performance art in 7th grade, and what was once a medium through which they could explore acceptance & self-love, is now a conduit to social progress & love for all people. Giovanni Marini is a queer artist seeking to create, curate, cultivate, & accentuate universal joy. At my foundation, I am an artist centered on pride, progress, & social change, seeking to crystalize the immersion of joy in art as a means of protecting the sanctity & solitude of the artist’s spirit.

Whether through cathartic examination of the human condition, through scrutinous investigation of the social body, or through euphoric exploration of dalliance & celebration, I seek to locate & eliminate the barriers to joy so as to create spaces centered in supporting, nurturing, uplifting, healing, exploring & playing.

It is in our most vulnerable, our most comfortable, our most joyous where we find our most playful, our most adventurous, courageous, evocative, bold, promiscuous, daring, & powerful. It is in our smile where we find our superlative.
